How did you get started playing lacrosse? Did you have a mentor?
I started playing lacrosse because my three older brothers played and I wanted to play with them. All three of my brothers are my mentors.
How did you get started coaching?
I have had such a tremendous experience playing lacrosse and I wanted to spread that experience to as many people as possible. My brother Joey introduced me to coaching by offering me a JV Girls Lacrosse position at Rocky Point High School.
Why did you want to coach at 91 Lacrosse?
I come from a very strongly connected family and I want to spread that family connection to the 91 Lacrosse program. The knowledge of lacrosse will happen with any club because of the amount of lacrosse the girls are playing. The togetherness and pride is something that differentiates the 91 Lacrosse club from any other club teams around.
Favorite all time lacrosse player.
Well I'd have to say Brian is my favorite lacrosse player. Not only because he is my brother but he symbolizes exactly what I would be if I was a professional lacrosse athlete. He takes the time out for the kids, a complete team guy, plays scrappy, and makes everyone around him better.
Most memorable lacrosse moment.
When Rocky Point won the 2000 County Championship game. The game was played at Ward Melville high school and I scored 6 goals in the game. The actual moment I consider most memorable is when we ran the hidden ball trick and it worked. We tried it all season long and it never worked, then it works on that stage!!
How to you see lacrosse fitting into your life in 5 years?
Lacrosse is my life. It is something I love doing and I love making lacrosse enjoyable for other people.

Thoughts on Brian Spallina
Brian is one of the best people I know. He is someone who never stops working and is always looking out for everyone. I am very proud to have such an amazing brother. And is wife isn't that bad either!! Oh and have you seen his kid?? THE CUTEST!!!!
